Biography

 

​Nicole Martinelli, ​is an internationally acclaimed artist and photographer whose work has been showcased in prestigious gallery exhibition across the United States and Europe. Originally from the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, she now lives in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, drawing inspiration from the local mountains and rural landscapes for her creations. Her photography and hand-painted E artworks have been featured in numerous juried group exhibitions at renowned galleries, including yet not limited to; Brooklyn Waterfront Coalition Gallery, The Marblehead Arts Association in Massachusetts, Core art Space, in Denver Colorado, and the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild.

Nicole Martinelli has become a strong and influential voice in contemporary art, engaging audiences around the world with her unique creative vision. She has participated in 45 curated gallery exhibitions, with 23, of her original works showcased in respected galleries and two notable museums, Sasse museum of Art, and San Diego Museum of Art.  Her exhibitions span across four countries, America, Italy, Switzerland, and Spain. Highlighingt her expanding global presence and growing impact within the international art community.​

​​Nicole has achieved both national and  international recognition, receiving awards in various gallery exhibitions, including a notable Gallery Exhibition in Gstaad, Switzerland. Recently, Nicole in a distinguished five-month juried exhibition in the breathtaking Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps, showcasing her work alongside artists from around the world.  In July 2025, she is honored to be exhibiting with the prominent gallery,  Rossocinabro Gallery located in the heart of Rome, Italy. Which was Immediately following the  prestigious international gallery exhibition in which she was honored to be exhibited in, ''Woman Power 2025 ,Weaving Dreams, Living Time'' International Gallery Exhibition which was held in the beautiful Puglia region of Italy, Lecce, Italy. Additionally, she is preparing for a solo exhibition with Artifact Gallery in Manhattan, New York.​​

​Nicole Martinelli’s artwork and photography have earned recognition and acceptance from a distinguished roster of jurors across the contemporary art world. Her pieces have been chosen by esteemed experts such as Susan Anderson, Curatorial Research Associate at the Harvard Art Museums, whose scholarship and curatorial leadership in Old Master drawings are internationally respected. Her work has also been selected by Crista Dix, Executive Director and Curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography, a leading institution that presents more than fifty exhibitions each year. In addition, Martinelli’s achievements include selections by Kendall Brinson, Director of Learning and Engagement at the Fuller Craft Museum, whose curatorial influence supports innovation in craft and contemporary art. Further recognition has been granted by renowned multidisciplinary figures including the accomplished New York environmental artist Sandy Gellis, celebrated for sculptural works inspired by water and natural systems. Her photography has additionally captured the attention of jurors such as artist, author, and poet Armando Garcia, as well as legendary musician Billy Corgan, founder of the Grammy Award winning band The Smashing Pumpkins, both of whom have contributed their creative vision and discerning eye to the curation process. Collectively, these distinguished jurors affirm Martinelli’s artistic excellence, reinforcing the credibility, impact, and growing stature of her work within the arts community.

In July 2025, the artist exhibited her work in the International Gallery exhibition, "Future Spaces," at Rossocinabro Gallery  located in beautiful Rome, Italy. Showing Now through  July 1 to August 8, 2025. The Artist is currently preparing for her second gallery exhibition with Rossocinabro Gallery opening in September through January 2026 ​. Nicole has earned national and international recognition, including a prestigious five-month juried show in the Bernese Oberland region in the Swiss Alps in Beautiful prestigious area of Gstaad, Switzerland at Hotel DeRougemont. The Artist will be returning to Lecce exhibiting her work this December In the interernational gallery exhibition, Le Château Volant, in Lecce Italy. In Spring 2026, her work will be exhibited with VYA Gallery during Madrid Art Week in Spain. Nicole Martinelli, was originally an oil painter who would use her photography strictly for reference material. Nicole was heavily influenced by the impressionism era of Van Gogh and Monet and started having success locally throughout the Chicago land area in 2014. During this time She was accepted for a solo exhibition at Madame Zuzus, owned by well known exceptionally talented musician and front man of the iconic high profile band, the Smashing Pumpkins,

Billy Corgan.

Serious health issues however forced the Artist to take a break from her art career and focus on regaining her health  and emotional and personal well being with After surviving difficult life  experiences and faced with serious health challenges the artist took a-needed break to focus on her recovery .With the assistance of the compassionate Dr. Phillip Miller whom assisted with gaining her power back, and self confidence, 

Along with the assistance, of her fiance', now husband , Peter and the the natural healing power of nature, Chinese natural medicine methods, and her new found artistic passion for photography, she was able to regain her health, her life, and her artsitic career with both resilience, and strength!​​

Prior to finally fully accepting that she could no longer paint as intricately as she used to with oils, she made this broadcast before discovering ,and creating the much more comfortable and adventurous pioneered new art form of painting, e-painting. During this time period, her photography first began gaining acknowledgment in the art world!

Requiem Of Flowers 

This particular artwork embodies the death of one's former self due that occurs through our darkest life experiences

 It highlights the light and the beauty that is found within our darkest life  moments and struggles and the profound gratitude for life that occurs within these darker life moments.  It emphasizes the importance of allowing things to naturally unfold  and embracing the beauty that is found in our darkest life moments by applying the gained wisdom from these life experiences and growing and evolving into our better self while connecting with one's higher self.

 The message and symbolism in this piece is based on humanity going back to the way humanity should essentially be, a simpler time that was exemplified from our natives and native tribes. This piece is a reflection of humanity in bloom. Just as flowers blossom in different seasons, soils, and stages of life, so do we. Each petal represents humanity,and us as individuals, unique in shape, color, and journey. yet all part of the same vast garden we call Earth! I believe in Protecting and deeply appreciating Nature in its untouched, natural element is not merely a choice, but I feel a vital necessity for all living beings . Beyond simply living off its resources, there is profound value and wisdom in striving to live in harmony with the natural world. Being surrounded by nature offers an essential sanctuary, of happiness solace and peace providing life long benefits that nourish our physical health and enhance our mental well-being.

I genuinely believe that nature has been a significant force in my life, guiding me and helping me navigate through considerable physical and emotional challenges. This transformative support, the deep healing and inner tranquility I’ve discovered within the natural world, has instilled in me a strong sense of purpose. As an artist, I see it not just as a choice but as a profound responsibility to express these experiences through my work. My art is devoted to communicating these essential messages of healing, resilience, and the deep inner peace that the environment and nature offer—not just for me, but for everyone—encouraging others to find solace, strength, and healing in the natural world!

''As an E-painter I am essentially incorporating my previous painting skills as an oil painter with my technical knowledge acquired from Digital Photography. I create my E-Paintings organically from my mind while using my stylus as my brush and, my touch screen laptop as if it were my Canvas.​ As an artist I believe in advancing with the current times and using this technology to my advantage. I do not believe however in being used by the technology. Having a hands on approach every step of the creative process is essential to myself as an artist. The circumstances that  assisted in creating Nicole Martinelli to become

  The Artist and Photographer she is Today

The Artist is honored and grateful for all she has been blessed with these last few years

that have occurred thanks to her artistic gifts  she has been blessed with . She lived through a very bleak time period in her life

through serious severe health illness and other very difficult circumstances that she survived.

She feels that in a way that these circumstances she found the strength and courage to live through  and Survive, were a blessing in disguise, due to her artistic focus shift in her mediums from painting to photography which has gained her recent artistic attention not only locally but nationally and internationally The Artists sudden shift in mediums occurred  due to the difficult circumstances she was faced with The Artist is thankful to be Alive and healthy once more and be able to share her love for nature

Dwelling on my the past only brought more sorrow.
